In 2012 I got to do my first piece of work for Stones Throw Records which was a big deal for me, not only because they're one of my absolute favourite record labels but also because Parra's work for them was a big inspiration for me when I started illustrating. It came about after I emailed the info account on their website asking whether there was any vague possibility of doing some illustration work for them. To my amazement, I got an email back from Jeff Jank, Stone's Throw's art director and another personal hero of mine who invited me to submit some ideas for Stones Throw t-shirts.

▼ One of the ideas that came out of the initial designs I submitted was the shirt below which originally started off as a straight up Stones Throw tee with a load of references from their back catalogue on the hand. I reworked it into the design below and it became Madlib's t-shirt for his 2012 world tour.
