In spring 2020, I was asked to illustrate the cover for Esquire Magazine’s Summer Fiction issue. I also created an animated version of the cover which was used to promote the release on socials. The issue coincided with the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent worldwide lockdown so I wanted the illustration to capture a sort of dream-like idealised lockdown scenario. I also included a reference to one of my favourite TV programs of the year - a trailer for the Chicago Bulls documentary The Last Dance is playing on loop on the laptop.
